Welcome to our weekly guide to what’s new on home video — DVD, Blu-ray, and VOD too. I have no idea why this week is so light on new films. Will everyone be spending their money on candy instead?
- ‘Byzantium.’ Neil Jordan’s latest take on vampires stars Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan.
- ‘Harlequin.’ (aka ‘Dark Forces’) Australian horror from 1980. With Robert Powell, David Hemmings, and Broderick Crawford.
- ‘La Notte.’ Michelangelo Antonioni’s smoldering 1961 drama, on Blu-ray from The Criterion Collection.
- ‘Monsters University.’ Pixar prequel sends Mike and Sully (voices of Billy Crystal and John Goodman) back in college.
- ‘R.I.P.D.‘ Possibly the worst-reviewed action movie of the summer, this supernatural tale features Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges teaming up after they die.
- ‘Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.’ If you must.
