The Texas Theater’s Akira Kurosawa series continues through the end of August with screenings of “Ikuru” and “Ran”.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994) – This film is presented by CineWild and Mocky Horror

Brazil (1985) – Terry Gilliam’s film gets a 4K restoration screening.

Jaws (1975) – Part of the wave of screenings this summer celebrating the film’s 50th anniversary.

Scream (1996) – The film that launched a post ironic wave of horror films.

Malcolm X (1992) – Spike Lee’s masterpiece screens on Sunday August 17th

Bloody Moon (1981) – I have this in my Tubi queue right now. It probably will look much better on the big screen. A film by the prolific Jess Franco, who oscillated between hardcore films and more respectable fare.

Hackers (1995) – I don’t hold this 1990’s film in quite in the same regard as many. Still a fun watch however.

Frailty (2002) – I haven’t seen it since its initial release, but Bill Paxton’s directorial debut was well made and dense.
